ABOUT US
Since the 1940’s, Refrigeration Products Company has served the Cincinnati business community with quality heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration services. The business has grown and changed significantly is the past 60+ years. Ownership has changed several times moving from private to public ownership by First Energy Corporation in 1998.
In the late 80’s and 90’s the business focus was largely on the public new construction market. These were good times for this market focus and the company flourished. In the last decade, the breadth of service has been expanded to include design/build, engineering, sheetmetal, building automation, and plumbing. Uncertainty in the economy and issues with utility deregulation were challenges for RPC under First Energy’s ownership. In late 2006 these challenges ultimately led to a return to private ownership by John Lowe and Kevin Madigan. Under our guidance it is our intention that the RPC Mechanical brand continue to be recognized for design, installation, and service excellance in the HVAC and refrigeration industry.
As witnessed in industry across the country, just-in-time delivery has infiltrated most phases of the construction business. As a result, of over $200 billion of construction nationwide, including 50% of all private industrial/commercial construction will be performed on a design/build basis by the year 2008. The explosion of growth of the time tested design/build delivery method has been fueled by owners' demand for single point of contact and responsibility, guarantees for price and schedule, demands for accelerated project completion, and a positive partnering approach to project delivery. The “new” RPC Mechanical will be a premier provider of these design/build services.
Through out the past 6 decades, RPC Mechanical has always been interested in long-term service to the customer. Though in the 80’s and 90’s this focus was under emphasized it is our intent to re-invigorate this part of the business and provide a “cradle to grave” approach to business working closely with design/build on project development through service long after the construction projects are complete. This plan should provide a solid customer base with an annuity type book of business based of customer satisfaction, repeat business, and strong returns on capitol investment.
One lesson learned by industry consolidators over the past 10 years is that community and business relationships closely coupled with strong business, engineering and technical skills drive the mechanical contracting business. The current management team has these industry and community relationships and a level of experience and talent equal or superior to any of the competitors in the market place.
We think like a CFO, understand facility needs and empathize with the comfort needs of building occupants.
